Apple’s new processors give it more power over developers on the Mac

Apple announced Monday that it was ditching Intel microprocessors in favor of custom-designed chips built around Arm processors. Arm, a British microprocessor design company, is behind many of the small, power-efficient mobile devices that have proliferated in recent years and Apple already uses Arm designs in iPhones, iPads and watches.
